"Well I was raised mostly American because my mom moved here when she was seven, but she grew up in Tennessee instead of Connecticut. My dad ended up moving here much later...when he was almost thirty I think after he got his PhD in Germany. He didn’t teach me that much German stuff. He never even really taught me German. He always told me English is the only language I’ll ever need, so don’t waste your time and money doing that, because other people are doing that.

We’ll see what happens in a few years. Maybe I’ll want to go back [to school], because I do like learning about math. Most people don’t. I do talk with my dad about math a lot now, because of that. We’ve taken a lot of the same math classes. Whenever I get a new textbook he always wants to read it. Last time he was here, he just pulled out one of my books and started looking at it so he could see what I was doing. He also likes to look at my notes and my exams and stuff. I mean...I’m fine with it. And then when we went to his parents’ house he pulled out his old math notes to show me. They left all of his stuff mostly untouched."
