"I love being a second-generation American because although I was born in New York I define myself as a Hispanic woman. It is meaningful for me to be able to represent Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico and be able to share the knowledge and experiences i have from both islands.

I value my education because without it, it would be hard to do what my dream job is. I want to be a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.  In addition, my parents have worked very hard throughout all these years to send me to UConn so that i could pursue my dream career. At this moment in my life, I would say my education is my number 1 priority and it is what has given a meaning to my life."
